PCC is one of the most diversified trades. A Pointer or Tuckpointer replaces mortar between masonry units, while the Cleaner aspect of the trade focuses on the cleaning of all masonry surfaces. A Caulker applies sealants to expansion joints in both new and existing buildings.
Beyond pointing, cleaning, and caulking, PCC craftworkers perform a wide range of specialized restoration work, including epoxy injection and mortar patching. PCC craftworkers have the unique opportunity to restore masonry buildings that have stood for decades, preserving their integrity and character. At the same time, they contribute to new construction—structures that will one day be restored by future generations of PCC craftworkers.
